Frog Artwork

Image
This artwork was really fun to do, and I liked the way I shaded this piece with colored pencils. I was going for a style that resembles the book, "Frog and Toad Are Friends." by Arnold Lobel. I remember reading the books as a kid, and I was really inspired by the charming imagery the book has.

About Me

Hi there, my name is Sophie Bohanan ! I'm 15 years old and I was born November 4th, 2003. I think that my art is inspired by a lot of artists that I follow on Instagram. With my usual artwork, I like to go for a realistic look with a mix of cartoony. I usually do digital artwork as it is my strong suit, but I still like the challenge of traditional! I like colored pencils as well, as I have recently found out, and I hope that I work more with them. I like to write short stories and topics on my phone about my characters I make, which I also draw extremely frequently.  My main inspiration to start art was my older sister, who draws a lot of anime and cartoon characters. She's a big inspiration to me and her artwork always makes me want to one-up her. She's very talented and I hope I meet up to her art expectations one day. One famous artist that is a very big inspiration to me is Meybi on Tumblr, with her colorful and bright characters that she draws. Her art st

Still Life Portrait

This was my third self portrait that I've done! I think that this one expresses a lot of emotion, and I was upset about this project. I feel like I could have improved in a lot of areas on this project. What I did was I set up an arrange of CD's and I drew my reflection.

High Contrast Self Portrait

This was my second attempt at a self portrait, this time I used sharpie! I think this one is a really big improvement from my original one because I used a picture reference. One thing I could have improved on would be, again, the position of the lips. I think they're a little off. Either than that, I think that this was a really good success in my book.

First Drawing Of Self

This was pretty much my first self portrait. I know that some areas to improve on would be the position of the lips, the size of the eyes, and a ton more factors that are apparent when you look at it. I think a great strong suit with this project is that I used colored pencil to try and get out of my comfort zone.

Human Facial Proportions

Image
This project was about studying the human form and facial proportions. There was two things required for this project. One, a portrait of a friend, and two, a portrait of yourself. For the friend, I drew my friend Megan! When I first made it, I was really proud of it. Now that it has been awhile since the beginning of first semester, I think I could have done so much better on it.

Challenge Project Presentation

This was my artwork that I did that I tried replicating Marco's Style. Here was my test sketch and a few alcohol swatches to try if I could get that jet black look.
